All of them belong to Nyabukara Parish West Division Fort portal Municipality in Kabarole District (Western Uganda).<\/p><p><b>CURRENT SITUATION IN NYABUKARA<\/b><\/p><p>Volcop did a survey\u00a0to understand the living\u00a0situation and quality of life of the people in Nyabukara community. The end result\u00a0and data collected are\u00a0illustrated\u00a0below;<\/p><ul><li>Families are composed of 5 to 15 members. In some families we found out that some members share the beds\/ matresses. None of the families\u00a0has tap\u00a0water. The common sources of water are : rivers, streams, wells and bore holes.<\/li><li>The 34.3% of the total families surveyed have at least one member with HIV.<\/li><li>The 24.4% of the people in the community\u00a0does not have access to pit latrine so insteady they share with other neighbours.\u00a0Family members make their latrines\u00a0close to the\u00a0area where they wash, cook or play. This hygiene issue has been one of the main reasons for the health issues among the families, especially the children.<\/li><li>We also have verified that 17.1% of the\u00a0families can afford only one meal\u00a0a day, and the rest of the families do it twice or three times a day.<\/li><\/ul><p>The\u00a0local\u00a0food consumed\u00a0are\u00a0matooke\u00a0(variety of steamed green plantain),\u00a0posho\u00a0(maize meal),\u00a0millet, rice, potatoes and legumes. Having access to only limited food, the\u00a0families do not get\u00a0a balanced diet.<\/p><p>From the families of the study, only the 11.4% of them have access to light, thanks to solar panels.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nowadays, Volcop works assisting different problems that Kiteere, Nyabusozi, Kyamukerege, Mukubo, Nyabukara and Bulyanyenje villages face.
